Approximately 7,000 dolls from Katsuura Town in Tokushima Prefecture, and about 30,000 “hina” dolls received as gifts from all over the country are on display at various locations in the city. In particular, about 6,000 hina dolls and 15 giant “kyoho-bina” dolls, the largest in Japan, decorate the Arts and Cultural Exchange Center. Tomisaki Shrine also features approximately 1,800 hina dolls on display on 60 stone steps, which are lit up in the evening, creating a magical sight. The decorated dolls are spectacular and their incredible beauty brings joy to those that see them.
