Nippon Department Store Shokuhinkan, located in the CHABARA business facility just one minute’s walk from JR Akihabara Station Electric Town Exit, is the only department store in Japan specialized in food. The vast interior, with a floor space of 1000 square meters, is packed with delicious products from across Japan, ranging from sweets to condiments, packaged meals, canned goods, and drinks. The interior is divided by prefecture, with many limited-edition products that can normally only be found in the prefecture, such as famous specialty products from each region. The shop also holds regular events inviting producers.
