SHINGENーKO FESTIVAL ~The largest samurai parade in the world~ - Yamanashi

The Shingen-ko Festival is one of the prefecture’s premier events that commemorates Sengoku warlord Takeda Shingen, and is held every year on the weekend before his death on April 12. About 1,500 warriors in traditional costumes gather at Maizuru Castle Park to march through the city of Kofu. The world’s largest march like the Sengoku picture scroll is gallant as well as splendid, and worth seeing. Guinness World Records certifies the festival as the largest gathering of samurai in the world.
