Kuzuryu Festival Eiheiji Dai Toro Nagashi - Fukui

Following a dai seshoku memorial service (a memorial service where sutras, posthumous Buddhist names and legal names are read aloud) by the more than 120 role dormitory and Kumoosame crowd of Daihonzan Eiheiji Temple, about 10,000 lanterns are released into the Kuzuryu River. The scene which the band of light creates is sublime and magical.
