Sansa Odori Festival - Iwate

“Come, watch, be fascinated, and join in!”
Mass dancing is the highlight at the “world’s greatest taiko parade,” performed in time to the powerful rhythms of the taiko and melodies from the flute. The Morioka Sansa Odori Parade is held in the heart of the city, with the Miss Sansa Odori Dancers and Sansa Taiko Group leading the procession with spectacular dance performances. The grand parade of gallant and splendid dances performed by group after group, is a must-see. A circle dance is held after the parade ends, when the dancers and tourists come together to enjoy the sansa odori.
