Yosakoi Festival - Kochi

The Yosakoi Festival is held every year on August 9th (festival eve), 10th, 11th (day 2), and the 12th (post-festival evening celebration and national convention) at nine competition and seven dance performance venues around Kochi City, involving approximately 200 teams and roughly 19,000 dancers showing off their moves with wooden naruko clappers. It is a Tosa carnival featuring wild dancing and elaborately decorated local trucks.
