The Nara To-kae is a traditional summer event in which candles are used to illuminate the prayers of everyone who visits Nara. These candles are set up around World Heritage sites, places where time seems to move at a slow and relaxed pace.
Approximately 20,000 candles are used to illuminate eight sites each night. Walk around each site. Take them in. Light candles for yourself. We hope you will look forward to this opportunity to create new and wonderful memories.
