Yama-age Festival - Tochigi

The Yama-age Festival, with a history of over 460 years, is a dedicated event of the Annual Yakumo Shrine Grand Festival, and a massive festival of Nasukarasuyama City that includes a portable outdoor kabuki theater and mikoshi portable shrines that have been passed down through generations.
Don’t miss the open-air kabuki performances, as well as the perfect teamwork from the young staff who support them. The Karasuyama Yama-age Festival has been inscribed as a Yama/Hoko/Yatai Float Festival of Japan and a UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity.
