The line of around 1,200 cherry trees that runs for approximately 8 kilometers along the banks of the Shiroishi River from Ogawara-cho to Shibata-cho is known as “Hitome-senbon-zakura (1000 Cherry Trees at a Glance).” Approximately 1,300 cherry trees bloom inside Funaokajoshi Koen (Funaoka Castle Park). In early to late April, the Shibata Cherry Blossom Festival & Ogawara Cherry Blossom Festival are held.
