Saijo Festival is a traditional autumn festival in Saijo City that has continued since the Edo period.
It is a collective festival for Isono Shrine, Kamo Shrine, Iwaoka Shrine, and Iizumi Shrine to give thanks to the gods for a bountiful harvest.
Approximately 150 floats (danjiri, mikoshi, Taikodai), said to be the most in Japan, from each town of the parishioners in the city are dedicated to the shrines. The elaborately-carved floats line up during the festival and make their way across town with the sounds of taiko, gongs, and festival shouts echoing through the streets. Many describe it as “glamorous beauty” with tourists flocking to see the festival and the rituals at local shrines.

Event Details	This year only the rituals will be held on a reduced scale, and the danjiri floats parade, river crossing and other events will not take place.
