Oita Tanabata Festival - Oita

Dashi floats called Funai Pacchin, shaped as a brave warriors and rising dragons and dynamically illuminated, parade their way through the streets. The public dance festival, Tanabata starlight stage, Wakuwaku Funai Pacchin Taiken Hiroba, and taiko drum competition are the excitement on the second day. On the third day, a display of about 6,000 fireworks along the banks of the Oita River light up the night sky.
