Starting at 23:55 and for five minutes before the New Year, 108 men and women who were born in the year with the same Chinese zodiac sign pull a red and white rope on a one-year sand clock to mark the start of the New Year. On stage, there is live music and a bingo contest. When the clock strikes midnight, there is a display of approximately 1,000 fireworks. Winter fireworks are unusual, but the flowers that bloom in the cold sky are beautiful.
