Sanuki Toyohama Chohsa Festival - Kagawa

Chohsa are floats adorned in gold embroidery that act as platforms for taiko drums. While the participants in matching happi coats carry the chohsa and parade through otabisho rest stops and squares beating out a drum tune through the streets, they perform Kaki Kurabe (chousa carrying performance) enthusiastically. When night falls, chochin lanterns provide light, creating even more fantastic atomosphere for the performance. The Kaki Kurabe are the highlight of the festival.

Event Dates Every year for three days with the second Sunday in October as the last day.
