Takaoka Mikuruma-yama Festival - Toyama

Seven wheeled mikuruma-yama floats bestowed by Hideyoshi Toyotomi tour the city in one of Japan’s most gorgeous festivals. Designated important tangible and intangible cultural properties, it is one of only five festivals in the country to receive such a distinction.
It was registered as UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage in December this year.
